Butch Marino

Butch Marino brings over three decades of healthcare experience, including corporate development and senior leadership within multi-state, multi-site settings. Butch founded Baltimore, Maryland-based ChoiceOne Health Advisors, LLC (C1HA), where he advised hospitals, academic medical centers, and physicians in connection with M&A, Joint Venture Strategies, Strategic Start Up, and Program Improvement Strategies. Butch’s experience spans the full healthcare spectrum with particular expertise in sell side advisory in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery practices, Ambulatory Surgery Centers, Urgent Care Centers, and Renal Dialysis.

In 2015, Mr. Marino co-founded Baltimore, Maryland-based ChoiceOne Urgent Care. As President and CEO, Mr. Marino was responsible for the overall management, strategy, and direction of ChoiceOne. He led the transaction to merge with Austin, Texas-based MedSpring Urgent Care in 2017. The combined entity represented one of the ten largest urgent care platforms in the U.S. with multiple centers in Maryland, Georgia, Illinois, and Texas until it was acquired in 2019 and 2020.

Prior to co-founding ChoiceOne Urgent Care, Mr. Marino served as the President and CEO of Innovative Health Strategies, a strategic sell side advisory firm. Mr. Marino provided strategic M&A, joint venture and program improvement advisory services to multiple healthcare systems and physician practices throughout the U.S. Having led the process in over 100 sell-side transactions.

In 2000, Mr. Marino served as the Co-Founder and Chief Development Officer of Physicians Dialysis, Inc. He successfully led Physicians Dialysis through several accretive acquisitions and joint ventures, and he created a nationwide network of 24 dialysis clinics. Under his direction, he helped position Physicians Dialysis as the nation’s sixth-largest dialysis provider, until it was acquired by DaVita, Inc. in 2004.

Butch earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware. He also completed the Executive Education, Mergers, and Acquisitions at Columbia Business School and the Executive Education, Mergers, Acquisitions, and Corporate Restructuring Transactions program at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.
